Trapping

This is the harsh reality of trapping during baby season. 💔
Imagine the fear of being torn away from your mother, your home, and everything familiar — with no idea what comes next.
That’s exactly what happened to these five babies. A well-meaning citizen trapped and relocated their mother—unaware her young were still nearby. Left behind and unable to survive on their own, they were brought to us frightened, alone, and orphaned.
Sadly, this is a very common story during baby season. One we see multiple times a week. If the mother isn’t trapped but the babies are, they’re often dumped and left to slowly starve—frightened, exposed, and without any chance of survival.
It’s a heartbreaking outcome for trapping wildlife during this time of year — one that’s entirely preventable.
Thankfully, their story doesn’t end there. Thanks to the compassionate team at Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Amarillo, these little ones now have a second chance at life. ❤️🩹
