ABOUT US
Founded in 1988 by Carol Lee, South Plains Wildlife Rehabilitation Center (SPWRC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to two vital missions:
-
Wildlife Rehabilitation – Providing expert, compassionate care to orphaned, injured, ill, and displaced wildlife, with the ultimate goal of returning them to their natural habitats.
-
Environmental Education – Inspiring appreciation and conservation of natural resources, while teaching the essential role wildlife plays in healthy ecosystems for future generations.
As a licensed wildlife hospital, our facilities are not open to the public. We are authorized by Texas Parks & Wildlife, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the USDA. SPWRC receives no government funding—our work is made possible only through the generosity of our community.
We are open to the public twice a year for Open House. The first Saturday of May and First Saturday of December! If you are interested in scheduling a field trip or renting our education room, please email spwrc.outreach@gmail.com
