Baby ducks stay with mom for a long time! If you find baby ducks alone at at park, mom may have been injured or they may be "dumped" pet ducks. Click below for more information! 

During cold weather or cold fronts, these birds may go into torpor and are sometimes found on the ground. Torpor is when they slow their heart rate to conserve energy. If they don't fly away when it warms up, please bring them in! 

Kill deer & quail do NOT do well in captivity and are often kidnapped when parents are near by. Please call us before taking them from their location. Killdeer adults will also act injured to distract you from their young! 

Lubbock has land & aquatic turtles!  Please do not relocate more than 1 mile from original location. If you see it in the road or dangerous location, move safely in the direction it was headed. Never place a land turtle in water! 

Baby snakes are born ready to care for themselves! Please do not bring us baby rattlesnakes. We are not a snake removal company but can offer advice over the phone! 

Rabies & distemper show very similar symptoms such as neurological behavior. Please call Animal Control if you suspect sick wildlife! 

Avian flu season is here from November - April when the geese migrate to Lubbock. They will show severe neurological behavior. Do NOT try to pick up without PPE. Call Lubbock Animal Control.
