Please read the internship description carefully to ensure this is the right fit. Wildlife rehabilitation is labor‑intensive, physically demanding work, and much of it involves basic, repetitive, and often messy tasks. To move up into more advanced or exciting responsibilities, interns must first demonstrate strong work ethic, consistent attention to detail, and a positive, team‑player attitude. Those who show dedication to foundational tasks—while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and a willingness to help wherever needed—progress the fastest. We offer both college‑credit and non‑credit internship options. College‑credit interns must obtain approval from their advisor. Non‑credit interns typically participate to build their résumé and job experience. All interns must complete 100 hours. If you are a college student who wants the experience but not the internship requirement, please reach out for the volunteer application. At this time, regular volunteer positions are not open to the public; we only make exceptions for college volunteers. This is because many people express interest, attend orientation and training, and then never return. We do not have the staff or resources to repeatedly train volunteers who do not follow through.
