BABY BIRDS
If you find baby birds that have fallen from their nest and you can safely reach it, please place them back—this is almost always the best option. If the nest is out of reach but you still see the parents nearby, you can create a substitute nest using a small basket or a bucket with drainage holes and hang it in the same tree where the babies fell. Parent birds will readily accept this new nest and continue caring for their young. If you do not see the adults returning to the new nest, they may have been injured, killed, or abandoned the area after the original nest was destroyed. In that case, keep the babies warm and bring them to us for care. DO NOT FEED OR GIVE WATER! If water or food goes down their trachea, they will die.
