BABY RACCOONS

Raccoons often den in quiet spaces like attics, sheds, and under porches, and during spring a mother may accidentally leave a baby behind if she’s startled or displaced. If you begin a humane exclusion process, please give the mother a chance to come back for her babies—raccoon moms are excellent caregivers and will usually retrieve any young left behind once the disturbance has passed. If, after 2–3 nights, some babies remain and you see no sign of the mother returning, please call us for help. Avoid trapping or hiring pest control during baby season, as this can separate mothers from their young and leave the babies abandoned. Coexisting with wildlife is far more humane—and often much cheaper—than traditional pest control. Click below for humane solutions and more information.
